This program is for Students with ADHD and Other Executive Functioning Disorders. This program is offered at all Top Driver locations.
Top Driver has created a specialized Driver Education Program tailored for teen students with ADHD and other Executive Functioning Disorders. Since 2016, Top Driver has successfully worked with and graduated more than 1,000 students with these challenges.

- Individualized Graduated Driver's License Plan Meeting
- Inclusion into 30 hours of classroom instruction with private one-on-one Modified Final Exam appointment.
- Student will be provided with specially designed Student Workbook for maximized learning,
- Student will complete classroom training. prior to beginning in-vehicle training.
- Student will complete uniquely designed 10-hour Behind-The-Wheel Curriculum with specially trained and certified instructor.
Illinois Teen FAQs
Enroll in an Approved Driver Education Course Teens must be at least 15 years old to start. Sign up for a state-approved course, which includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
Obtain a Learner’s Permit The Permit Application is provided on day 1 of class. Apply for Permit, pass a written test and a vision screening at the DMV. Practice driving with a licensed adult (21+ years old) for at least 50 hours, including 10 hours at night.

A hard copy certificate of completion is not mandatory. Prior to visiting a Secretary of State Facility to apply for a driver’s license, completion of driver education must be updated/posted to the applicant’s driving record.
Students should check their eligibility to apply for a driver’s license on the Driver’s Education Course Completion checker tool.
Students must hold their permit for a minimum of 9 months from the date of issue. Additional requirements can be viewed on the Secretary of State Facility Checklist.
The permit application is provided on the first day of class (and not before).
